This is a game that helps you to practise recognising Synonyms (words that mean the same/similar thing) and Antonyms (words that mean the opposite thing).

It is important that we learn about vowels in words. This game is lots of fun! Use the laser to shoot the coconuts in order to create a word.

This is a game that tests your ability to create words using letter bubbles that fall from the sky. Type the words using your keyboard and press enter. Each letter you use in your word will pop the bubble on the screen. Work hard as you can not let your tub fill up with 50 bubbles!

Learning about Prefixes

Persuasive Writing

Master the art of persuasive writing using the Persuasion Map website.

Use this tool to develop a strong thesis/stance and three supporting arguments that persuade your audience.

Don’t forget to include a conclusion which leaves your reader with a powerful emotional reaction.

In 3/4 we are learning to write neatly. When we have mastered our handwriting we are encouraged to go onto the Literacy page of Miss Soding’s Blog and practise our touch typing.

Click on the image below to practise your touch typing.

Story Writing.

We love learning in 3/4 and we love to write stories. This is a wonderful site that uses your imaginative ideas in order to create a funny story! Have a go! Miss Soding made one about a unicorn, a tent and an electric guitar….. it was very funny 😉

Word Work.

This is a great game in which you learn to identify nouns and/or verbs…

WORD SORT

As the words drop, sort them into the correct category.  Are the words NOUNS, ADJECTIVES, ADVERBS, VERBS, LINKING VERBS or CONJUNCTIONS?

Spelling

This is a wonderful sight that helps you to practise spelling the most common words in the English language. We call these words, High Frequency Words.

Click on the image below to play a spelling game. See how many words you can spell using the letters provided. Type with your keyboard and press enter. Then when you are ready to try another, simply press backspace or delete to start the letters again. GOOD LUCK!!

We are learning about poetry in 3/4 this term. Here are some videos that we studied to gain some insight into the ways in which poetry can be delivered. Poetry can create emotion and imagery, it can move us greatly.
